Am I just going crazy, or is this a dual reference to Slaughterhouse-Five (”When did I get so old?”) and Richard Feynman (”I’d hate to die twice. It’s so boring.”)?
Probably just going crazy…I’ve heard similar sentiment expressed in a few accounts.
On the other hand, Herman is a lot like Billy Pilgrim, really.
